THIS MONTH: March is a month of reflection, renewal and rain. It's time for penance and good deeds as we reflect on the life of Christ and prepare for the joy of Easter. Student Councils are challenged to find ways for their fellow students to pray, participate in service activities and raise their school spirit despite the gloom and gray of winter. It's an opportunity for indoor tournaments that use the gym, the school cafeteria and auditorium. There can be indoor olympics, board game challenges, poet and art contests. March just might be the best time for a school wide spelling bee, spell-a-thon or speach contest. It is definitely a time to encourage a daily Mass club, arrange for penance services, sponsor a junior high retreat and make the sacrament of Penance available.
